Palaeontological research in the Department of Earth- and Environmental Sciences at the LMU, the Bavarian State Collection of Palaeontology and Geology and the GeoBioCenterLMU covers topics that cross palaeobiology, geobiology, palaeoecology, palaeoclimate, taxonomy, phylogeny and systematics from the Precambrian through to the Holocene. State-of-the-art methods that range from stable isotope analyses and high-resolution microscopy to molecular biology and genomics are employed to address questions of broad significance.
